Forza Horizon 2 - Nissan GTR

I was hoping I would have more time to enjoy Forza Horizon 2 this weekend but I only managed to complete a handful of events. Enough though to purchase the Nissan GTR and apply some upgrades.

The game did on a couple of occasions freeze the 360 console whilst loading up the menu or rewarding me with credits. Thankfully it did not lose any progress or corrupt my game save.

Simple things I take for granted on the PS4 like share a screenshot or upload a video to youtube I really miss on the Xbox 360.

Did not get a chance to play much else except the Destiny raid effort yesterday evening. I did watch the PS Experience Keynote on Saturday which was very impressive with lots of new games to look forward to in 2015.

New Game - Forza Horizon 2

Thank to a £10 refund from Amazon & a Black Friday deal, I managed to purchase the game for £12 on the Xbox 360. Yes I know the game is better on the XB1 console but I'm not spending £300 on another console so the 360 version is fine for me to enjoy.

I only managed to get as far as installing the game to the 360 Hard Drive before I had to hand over the controller to the kids to enjoy whilst I done some household chores, so not had a chance to fire it up yet but the kids have been enjoying it.

Forza Horizon - Completed

Cutting back on watching TV shows & restricting movies to only once a week has given me more time to play games which is good because I am enjoying my gaming at the moment. Forza Horizon has been really good fun, I have completed all the ribbon events & beaten Darius Flynt with my Nissan R32. I did think about taking the Bugati but the R32 has won me so many races it was only fair that I chose this car. A very long last race taking you all around the map & through the traffic across different terrains. In the end I beat Darius quite comfortably thanks to the R32 top speed & acceleration.

Having received 7,000,000 credits from winning the race, I then went car shopping & purchased some more cars including the Mclaren F1 & Koenigsegg. I'll be keeping the game for a while to enjoy the UGVM multi-player sessions.

Now to decide what to play next I think I will go play my new toy the Vita & thanks to PS+ I have Uncharted Golden Abyss to enjoy. Last minute change of heart & I have started to play Red Dead Redemption instead.

Forza Horizon - Bugati Veyron

2.2 millions credits needed to purchase but wow what a car!! Lightning fast & great fun to drive.

Currently I have the golden wrist band & am working my way up to race Darius Flynt.

I have not put in this many hours into t a racing game since the original Gran Turismo.

Just like Gran Turismo I have a couple of cars that I purchased straight away & these tend to be my default cars for most races.

Subaru Imprezza  - great for all those off road events.

Nissan GTR - fully maxed up to R3 & 10 on all stats.

I have quite a few other cars in my garage but one more to show you is the UGVM mobile, the Ford Focus RS500

Forza Horizon - Too competitive

When you finish a race, you are given a rival challenge time to beat. After the last yellow wristband race it gave me Abbas to challenge.

Now how could I refuse that challenge ...

Abbas completed Forza Horizon a few months ago & deleted his game save.

So what does he do?
Start playing the game again of course.

Too competitive, like father like son some would say :)

New Game - Forza Horizon

Titch (my younger brother) came round with his playstation 3 because he could not get the display to work on his tv.

A quick search revealed by holding down the power button for five seconds you reset the HDMI settings on the console.

He had a few games with the console but I loaded up GT5, just playing a single race I felt the desire to play a racing game.

Do I nick his copy of GT5 & give the game a second try?

Do I play Need for Speed most wanted which is sat on the shelf?

Or do I buy Forza?

I'm not a fan of open world racers, I did enjoy Burnout Paradise for the fun factor but boy would I get lost driving around !!

Having already played GT5 & given up at around 50% mark I did not want to start again, so it came down to Forza.

Forza 4 or Forza Horizon?
Trying both demos Forza 4 was a menu driven track racer & nothing more. Just want I wanted but like GT5 would I eventually get bored & give up?

Forza horizon was a mixture of an open world setup but with track based events.

I'm a sucka for eye candy & Forza Horizon looks amazing. I've only just really started the game, having raced two track events & a challenge against a plane which won me a Mustang car.

Before I got distracted by ...
